25 Unicorn Street, Saturday Morning

Natasha had gotten up early and made another sweep through the house, familiarizing herself with the layout, before she found and figured out the coffee maker and turned on the radio, tuning it to the local station to try to get a feel for the place.

...it seemed the place was insane.

And, as she listened to the broadcast and sipped her (black, very strong, only slightly sweetened) coffee, she concluded they were way overly fond of their gossip. Until they got to the part about her and Clint, anyway. She didn't drop her coffee cup or anything as dramatic as that, but she did set it down very firmly before yelling up the stairs, "CLINT! CLINT, GET UP! WE MISSED A BUG!"

((For that guy. And anyone who wants to knock at their door, I guess.))

Clint was a pretty light sleeper, so he was sitting up in an instant at the yelling. "WHAT?" he said, getting louder to match her. "HOW?" Maybe he wasn't fully awake, because she couldn't possibly have meant what he thought he heard.

She took the stairs two at a time up to his nest room, carrying the radio so he could hear this nonsense, too. "They're broadcasting our business to the entire island. And they've got some very flimsy code about squirrels, here, listen to this."

Clint took the radio and listened, his eyes getting wider the longer he listened. "They know our names? They think we're a couple?" Okay, maybe not the most important thing to focus on, but still.

"That part is almost a relief, it means they don't know we have separate bedrooms," Natasha pointed out. "And then it gets kind of weird." The whole thing was kind of weird, but the part right after that was definitely weird.

Clint kept listening, scowling as the kids talked about looking them up. "How are they looking us up? What could they possibly find?" he asked, before something else made his expression get a lot darker. "Did that kid just say Midgard?"

"I don't know," Natasha said, shaking her head as she double checked something on her phone. "I'm pretty sure if you Google 'Clint and Natasha' you're not going to get anything interesting just off that...yeah, it's useless." Unless you were looking for Clint Brown and Natasha Evans' wedding website. "And yes." She shut off her phone and looked at him. "The other kid mentioned Sleipnir earlier. And the first one keeps calling the other one Ares' son. I'm guessing some kind of pretentious boarding school thing, pretending to be mythological figures or whatever, until I have more evidence. Did you check outside? Maybe the yard's bugged. I didn't see any CCTV cameras." And she'd been looking.

'Pretending to be mythological figures' was a really whacked out explanation, but Clint was willing to accept it for now. "Yeah, I checked outside, but I didn't find anything." It was one thing to expect to be watched, but to be caught completely off guard was beyond frustrating. "I'll sweep again, but I don't know what we could have both missed."

Natasha was pretty sure Fury would have briefed them if they could expect to find Asgardians at this school, if only because 'how the hell are they getting there' was a really good question.

...mostly sure, anyway. It was Fury.

"We'll just have to keep looking until we find it," she decided, because the alternative was unthinkable.

Surely one of them would notice the squirrels in tiny hats eventually.
